Dermal Fillers in Crawley

Restore lost volume and soften deeper lines with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, for a natural, refreshed look. Treatment is carried out by Jane, a practising registered nurse, after a free consultation at her private clinic in Crawley.

What are dermal fillers?

Most modern dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin that attracts and holds water. As we get older, we lose volume in areas like the cheeks, which can make the face look tired and deepen lines around the nose and mouth.

A small amount of filler, placed carefully, can restore some of that lost volume and soften these lines. The aim is to look like a well-rested version of yourself, never "done".

Areas we treat

Cheek filler restores volume and gentle lift to the mid-face. Nasolabial fold filler softens the lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Marionette line filler softens the lines that run down from the corners of the mouth towards the chin.

We also offer filler dissolving, using a prescription enzyme, for anyone unhappy with filler placed previously, whether here or elsewhere.

Your consultation

Every treatment starts with a free consultation. Jane will look at your face as a whole, talk through your medical history and what you'd like to change, and recommend how much filler (if any) would give a natural result. Fillers are only available to adults aged 18 and over, and aren't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain medical conditions.

What happens on the day

A numbing cream may be used, and many fillers also contain a local anaesthetic to keep you comfortable. The filler is placed using a fine needle or a cannula. You'll see a difference straight away, although there may be some swelling at first.

Aftercare

Some swelling, tenderness or bruising is normal for a few days. For the first 24 hours, avoid make-up on the area, strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat (saunas, steam rooms and hot baths), and try not to press or massage the treated area unless advised. You'll get written aftercare advice and can contact Jane with any questions.

How long do results last?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are gradually broken down by the body. Depending on the area, the product and your own metabolism, results typically last somewhere between six and eighteen months. Jane will give you a realistic idea at your consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Will it look natural?

That's always the aim. Jane takes a conservative approach and would rather you came back for a little more than overdo it.

Does it hurt?

Most people find it very manageable. Numbing cream can be used, and many fillers contain a local anaesthetic.

Can fillers be reversed?

Hyaluronic acid fillers can usually be dissolved if needed, using a prescription enzyme. This is something Jane can discuss with you.

Will I bruise?

Some people get a little bruising or swelling for a few days. Avoiding alcohol and certain supplements beforehand can help; Jane will advise you.

How long does filler last?

Typically six to eighteen months, depending on the area treated and the product used.
