General

Who carries out the treatments?

Every treatment is carried out by Jane, a practising registered nurse.

Where is the clinic?

Elegant Aesthetics is a private home clinic in Broadfield, Crawley (RH11). Appointments are by arrangement, so you'll have Jane's full attention in a calm, private setting.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Every treatment starts with a free consultation, where Jane talks through your goals, medical history and what's realistic. You'll never be pressured into booking.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

That's exactly what the consultation is for. Jane will look at your skin and the concern you'd like to address, and recommend the right option, or tell you honestly if she doesn't think you need treatment.

Safety & suitability

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. Anti-wrinkle treatment and dermal fillers are only available to adults aged 18 and over, by law. Proof of age may be requested.

Can I have treatment if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Injectable treatments aren't offered during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please let Jane know if you are, or might be, pregnant.

What could stop me having treatment?

Some medical conditions, medications, allergies, active skin infections or recent procedures can affect suitability. Please tell Jane about any health changes, even if they seem minor.

What are the risks?

All treatments carry some risk, such as bruising, swelling or, rarely, more serious reactions. Jane will explain the risks of your specific treatment at your consultation, and you'll sign a consent form before anything goes ahead.

Before your treatment

How should I prepare?

Jane will give you advice for your specific treatment. In general, it helps to avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand, and to mention any blood-thinning medication or supplements, as these can increase bruising.

Should I wear make-up?

It's best to arrive with a clean face where possible. If not, Jane will cleanse the area before treatment.

What should I tell Jane?

Your full medical history, any medication or supplements, allergies, recent treatments elsewhere and anything you're worried about.

After your treatment

What's normal afterwards?

Mild redness, swelling, tenderness or small bruises are common and usually settle within a few days. Jane will tell you what to expect for your treatment.

When can I exercise or wear make-up?

For most injectable treatments, avoid strenuous exercise, heat (saunas, steam rooms, hot baths) and make-up on the treated area for 24 hours. You'll get written aftercare to take home.

What if I'm worried after treatment?

Contact Jane straight away by phone or WhatsApp. If you have severe pain, changes in skin colour, problems with your vision or difficulty breathing, seek urgent medical help by calling 999 or going to A&E.
